Another drawing that’s just for fun, no purpose other than to keep my hands and brain happy. 😁 here’s a couple of closeups…

Natsari and Ash
A drawing for the fun of it. I don’t want it to be a spoiler for anyone reading Crown of Bones (by A. K. Wilder) but this is a drawing connected to the book. Maybe don’t read on if you don’t want a full spoiler! I felt quite emotional by the end of this story.…

Exploration 21 at FLG
I am so happy to be part of an Exhibition at Flinders Lane Gallery in July this year. It’s their annual Exploration 21 Exhibition for emerging and unsigned artists. I’ve been working on six pieces, four are framed ready to go, two are at the framers now. As I’ve written in my Artist Statement, I…

The joy of drawing your favourite Musician
Vikki Thorn’s voice has been a constant musical companion for about 25 years of my life. I don’t think there’s been an experience in my adult years that hasn’t had a Waifs tune soundtracking it! I love that births, deaths, silent times and mad adventures all have this thread of Vikki’s songs/voice knitted into them.…

I’m already a massive fan of Kim Falconer (AK Wilder is the Author’s pen name for YA work). Kim’s Quantum Enchantment series and Quantum Encryption…

Vine Flowers
In creeps colour, just a small amount. This was a test to see if I like having a drawing with no collage in it, again. I always want to put a bit in but I’m not sure if it’s needed all the time. I like loose messy watercolour working with stippling, to make it less…

Lantern Faery finished
This little faery has had a bit of a change. I felt like I wanted a bit more mood, drama. Backgrounds are still a bit of a mystery to me, I’m not sure whether it is a bit too dark? Maybe it’s just my love/obsession of Mary Delany that creeps in…

Lantern Faery
Tonight I finished a drawing, I’m glad it’s finished with pen but I’m not sure if it’s needing colour. The Raven drawing I feel definitely was more successful because of the colour (even if it was just blue and sepia). So… I think I’ll have a moment to ponder and maybe come back to it…
