Dry Lavender and Freesias

A day of ruthless gardening and hacking back overgrown plumbago lead me to find these little treasures. The freesia husk was so delicate and beautiful, wrapped around some of the dead lavender flowers. I had to photograph it and draw it. A hung bunch kept it safe from the cats who wanted to eat it. In fact it’s still hanging above my desk.

As a drawing it’s probably a little bit sparse but there are days when simple things seem like the best subjects. Suits the mood!
